Memorial Day 2010

Image
Today is Memorial Day. We went to the cemetery to put some flowers and American flags on Dad's and Grandpa's headstones. I miss my Dad and Grandpa so much! Days like today can be difficult for me. Plus, the anniversary of Grandpa's death is coming up along with Father's Day. Memories of Dad and Grandpa will be on my mind even more the next few weeks. I took some pictures of the headstones today while we were there. Grandpa's headstone Dad's headstone I also finally put this decal on the rear window of my car. I thought today would be an appropriate day to do so.

Mother - Daughter Brunch

Image
Saturday we had a Mother - Daughter Brunch at our church Fellowship Hall. Valorie Quesenberry was the special speaker. She spoke on some highlights from her book "Reflecting Beauty: Embracing the Creator's Design" reminding us that we are all beautiful in God's eyes. It was a nice time of being with other women. We had quite a few women there. The food was delicious and the decorations were beautiful. Birthday Party for Brooklynn and Mackenzie

Image
Last night I went to a birthday party for my little cousins Brooklynn, who just turned 3, and Mackenzie, who will be 2 next week. The girls LOVE Dora the Explorer, so that was the theme. We bought them a couple of Dora books and stickers to go along with the cash that we gave them. These girls are totally something else. They are non-stop fun. They talk all the time. I am amazed at how they can carry on a conversation, even Mackenzie, who is only (almost) 2. They speak in complete sentences, and they talk very plainly. They are very smart (That must run in the Miller family...). Here are some pictures from the party. The batteries died in my camera towards the end of the party, so I did not get as many pics as I wanted. Mackenzie She wanted to give the "kitty" a ride in her Jeep. I think the kitty was a little scared. Brooklynn giving me her "stop taking pictures of me" look. The girls eating their dinner before cake and ice cream time Brooklynn with one of the

Product Review

I am a member of a website called BzzAgent, which is a word-of-mouth marketing company. Once you are a member, you receive offers for "campaigns" where you try new products and tell family and friends about the products, plus post reviews on the BzzAgent website. I recently received some samples of the new Dove Intensive Repair Daily Treatment Conditioner to try and tell others what I think of it. I received a full size bottle, and several trial-size packets along with some coupons. I have been using it for about a week now, and I really like it. It makes my hair super soft. I gave the packets away to others, including my Mom, who told me tonight that she also noticed how soft her hair is after using the conditioner. Here is what Dove says about the product: " NEW Dove Daily Treatment Conditioners give hair the deep nourishment of a treatment in the time it takes to condition. Their innovative formulas penetrate deep inside to help repair hair internally and leave it mor

More from Grandma's Flower Garden

My uncle John suggested I take some pictures of the flower garden in Grandma's back yard this past weekend. So, while we were there on Sunday afternoon, I went out to snap some photos. Here is what I came home with.

Graduation Service

Image
Sunday evening at church, we had a Graduation service for the children and young people that graduated. We had 3 graduating from Kindergarten, 1 from 8th Grade, 1 from High School, and 2 from College. Olivia and Samantha sang "This Little Light of Mine" and Evan sang "I Am a Promise" for us. Luke played a nice arrangement of "In The Garden" on the piano, Byron played "Come Thou Fount" on the trumpet, and Sarah played "Our Great Savior" on her saxophone. Pastor Forsee had each graduate come to the platform while he read a short bio on each of them. Each one also received a Bible from the church. After the service, we all went back to the Fellowship Hall and ate cake and some other snacks together. Here are some pics from the evening. Check out the videos on my Facebook to see the Olivia, Samantha, Evan and Luke performing their songs. Getting ready to march in... Gaither Concert

Image
Friday night we went to the Gaither Homecoming concert at Conseco Fieldhouse. It had been a long, long time since I had attended a Gaither concert, and Carl has never been to one, so it was a new experience for him. It was amazing! We enjoyed it so much. We went with my cousin Jennifer and her boyfriend Nate. We met for dinner at Logan's and drove up to Conseco together. Even though we ordered our tickets at different times, our seats were in the same section and row, only two seats apart. We actually switched with the people who had the seats between us so that we could sit beside Jenn and Nate. It was a great concert, and now we are looking forward to going to National Quartet Convention in September. Here are some pictures from the evening. There are more on my Facebook page.
