Happy 1st Birthday, Brooklynn Marie!!

Today, my little cousin, Brooklynn is 1! She is our miracle baby. She was born 10 weeks early. Her actual due date was at the end of July 2007. She was born May 19th. She was only 2 pounds when she was born. She was soooo tiny! She was in the hospital for quite a while and on a heart/breathing monitor for several months after she left the hospital. She is so precious! I love her to pieces! It is hard to believe that it has already been a year since she was born. We went to her birthday party on Saturday. She received a lot of gifts. She totally devoured her little cake! I have pictures, but I haven't loaded them onto my computer yet. Have a very happy birthday, Brooklynn! We love you! Below are some pictures that I have of her on my computer here at work: With her Mommy at the hospital. With my Dad in August. He loved Brooklynn so much! He thought she was really special. Carl and I with Brooklynn at Grandma Miller's house. She is famous for her silly faces! With M

Happy Birthday, Grandpa Miller!

Today would have been my Grandpa Miller's 84th birthday. I loved my Grandpa. He was such a great example of a Christian to me. I will always remember one of the sayings he had..."God can make a way where there seems to be no way." I miss his testimonies in church, and how he was always there when you needed him. There is not a day that goes by that he doesn't come to my mind, especially now that Dad is gone as well. It is hard to believe that Grandpa has been in heaven for almost 7 years. I miss him a lot. But, someday I will see Grandpa and Daddy again. I found this picture of Grandpa and I and thought I would post it as well. It was from my 4th birthday party. Notice my cake...Strawberry Shortcake. And now Strawberry Shortcake is popular again. I am actually going to a 1st birthday party tomorrow for Brooklynn and she is having a Strawberry Shortcake theme.

Baseball Anyone?

Carl and I are going to the Cincinnati Reds game tomorrow evening. The Reds are playing the Cleveland Indians. I have never been to a Reds game, so I am excited. The Reds are Carl's favorite team, whereas I am more of a Yankees girl. But he loves me anyway...hahaha. It should be a fun time. We are actually missing a cook-out at church to go to the game. Carl had ordered our tickets over a month ago, and we just found out this past Sunday about the cook-out. We will miss being our church family, but what can you do? I am really looking forward to our date tomorrow. I just hope the weather holds out for us...

Jumbled thoughts...

It seems like I have a million things on my mind this week. It's like everything decided to happen all at once. At home, we had a couple of things go wrong on the same day. One is fixed, the other, I am not really sure about. My aunt Pat lost her brother suddenly to a heart attack on Monday. They left Wednesday for North Carolina to be with the family for the viewing and funeral. On the way down, they were having van trouble. She sent me a text message while I was at lunch to pray that they could get it fixed. They were on the Virginia/West Virginia line at that time. The Lord answered prayer for them...in a way they were not expecting. They were praying that the "Check Engine" light would come back on, so they could get it someplace to be repaired. Well, God decided to fix the van Himself. They were able to make it the rest of the way to North Carolina without any more problems. Mom stated a new job on Monday night. It is second shift, and she doesn't like it very mu
