Happy Thanksgiving!

Image
From our house to yours ---   Happy Thanksgiving!   I have so many reasons to be thankful, I can't possibly list them all.   Most of all, I thank God for His overwhelming grace. I am amazed He loves us all so much.   I am thankful for God's patience. I know I have failed Him so many times, but He lovingly picks me back up, and helps me walk again.   I am thankful for the Bible.   I am thankful for my sweet husband.   I am thankful for my wonderful, quirky family. I have an amazing Mom and brother. My extended family is awesome as well. And the family I gained when I married Carl has been so sweet to me.   I am thankful for my church family.   I am thankful for my many amazing friends. You know who you are. I love you all.   I am thankful to have a home, a car, and a job.   I am thankful for an awesome group of children/tweens in Junior Church, and how God has been helping us grow.   This list could go on for a LONG time, but I wi

Fall

Image
Carl bought these yesterday for the front porch. Have I mentioned that I LOVE Fall?!

I Remember

Today marks 11 years since the horrible attack on our country. I will never forget September 11, 2001. I was actually still asleep when the towers of the World Trade Center were hit. My mom called me from work, and told me to turn on the radio to hear the news. I was shocked by what I was hearing. I got online to read news reports as the day went on. I remember how we saw American flags flying everywhere we went for weeks after that day. Everyone was being so patriotic. I remember buying the TIME and Newsweek magazines for a couple weeks. I remember it being such a perfect day, weather wise. The sky was so blue, the temps were just about perfect, it was just a perfect early fall day. It seems a little more real this year, since 9/11 falls on a Tuesday again. Our country realized that day it was not invincible, and it is not invincible today. Now more than ever, our country needs a re-awakening. I am not getting all political, but our country needs help, and I believe the answ

Legacy Five & Greater Vision Concert

Image
Friday evening, I attended a Legacy Five and Greater Vision concert in Indianapolis. It. Was. Awesome. In case you were not aware, Legacy Five recently hired a new bass singer after the original bass singer, Glenn Dustin, resigned from the group. Glenn was one of my favorites, so I was really bummed when he left. But, I was very pleased with the new guy. Matt Fouch did a great job with the group on only his 4th concert with Legacy Five. I got to talk to him a little after the concert, and he was very easy to talk to, really down to earth, like all the guys in L5. Legacy Five had their set first, and did several songs, including one of my favorites, Ask Me Why. I love that song. They did a fabulous job on We Shall See Jesus to end their first set. Greater Vision had a great first set as well. They sang several favorites, like My Name Is Lazarus and I Know A Man That Can. After the break, L5 came back and sang a few more songs, including one that featured the piano pl

Candle Giveaway!

Image
Since my husband is working on a Saturday; since it's been a cloudy, rainy day; and since it's been almost two months since I have done a blog post. I am doing a GIVEAWAY! Carl is working on a Saturday evening for a co-worker, but he will have Labor Day off. That will be nice because Carl will be able to stay at our family reunion as long as he likes. For the past few years, he has only been able to stay for an hour before heading into work. Instead of staying home by myself, Mom and I went shopping. We went to a consignment store called Off The Hanger, where I bought this pair of shoes for only $6:   Cute, huh?   We also went to Bath and Body Works. They were having a Labor Day Sale. The 3-wick candles are 2 for $20 this weekend. The mini candles are 2 for $5, and they also have lots of other things on sale. I love it when they have the candles on sale. I absolutely love the candles at Bath and Body Works!   I bought these two large candles.

Vacation Day 3 -- Monday

Image
Monday of our vacation, we toured the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, which is about halfway between Fort Worth and Dallas. The tour was pretty cool. We were able to see the personal suite of owner Jerry Jones. We visited a suite, walked around in the locker rooms of the cheerleaders and the players, and even got to go on the football field itself. The stadium is HUGE. A lot bigger than Lucas Oil Stadium. Players locker room Carl in the end zone! Cowboy Stadium After the tour of the stadium, we made our way into Dallas. We visited the Sixth Floor Museum, which is the location of the shooting which took the life of John F. Kennedy. The museum has a lot of history. You could stay there for quite a while, looking at pictures and reading everything. Heading into the Big D Hard Rock Cafe Sixth Floor Museum After we were done at the museum, we headed back to Arlington to meet Amy at Mardel Christian Store to wait for Ted Dekker and Tosca Lee. De

Vacation -- Day 2

Image
Sunday morning of our vacation we attended the Saginaw First Baptist Church. It was not far from Amy's house. We went to a Sunday School class and then the Worship Service. It was different, but good. The people there were very friendly, and the sermon was Biblical. After the service we went back to Amy's house for lunch. I took my Sunday afternoon nap, like always. Sunday evening, we attended church with Amy. We went to Christ Chapel Bible Church. This was a much bigger church than the one we went to Sunday morning. Again, the people were friendly and the message was Biblical. The service was definitely more contemporary than we are used to, but still a good service.
Happy Independence Day! Happy Birthday, America!

Vacation -- Day 1

Image
We flew out of Indianapolis on Saturday, June 9th. We left before 9am, and arrived in Dallas around 10:30, Dallas time. We had a great flight, no trouble at all. We got our luggage, and took the shuttle to the Rental Car Center. We got a nice Hyundai Elantra  to use for the week. We actually put a little over 1000 miles on the car. We drove from the airport to Fort Worth where my friend Amy lives. Amy was so kind to let us spend a few nights at her house. That really saved us a lot of money. When we got our things unpacked, we went to grab something to eat and to the store to get some groceries for the week. We wnet back to the house, where Carl played the Wii, and I took a nap. Later that evening, we all headed to the Historic part of town, the Fort Worth Stockyards. There are eating places, shops, and a museum or two. That is where the rodeo takes place every Friday and Saturday night as well. You know that you can't go to Texas and not attend a rodeo. It was pretty fun.

Texas Trip 2012

For our vacation this year, we made a trip to Texas. We flew from Indy to Dallas on June 9th, and returned home on the 16th. It was a great trip! We spent the first few days with my best friend Amy, who lives in Fort Worth. It was so nice of her to let us stay at her house. That saved us a lot of money. We also spent a couple days in San Antonio. I will try to do a separate post on the major things we did/places we went, but here is a brief overview of our trip. We went to the Fort Worth Stockyards (Historic part of the city) on Saturday evening for dinner and a rodeo, which was cool. You can't go to Texas and not go to a rodeo, you know. We attended two different churches on Sunday. I think it is neat to see other churches worship. The people at both churches were very friendly and welcoming. The sermons were good and Biblical. The music was a little different than what we have at our church, but still good. We toured the Dallas Cowboys stadium on Monday. That place is HU

Music Monday -- "Always Enough" by Casting Crowns

Image
I was listening to this song last week, and was reminded that our God is always enough for me. In fact, He is MORE than enough. If we have Jesus on our side, what else or who else do we need? He has promised to supply all our needs. All we have to do is trust Him and His timing. I am so thankful that "in a dry and weary land, Lord, You are the rain."

May Recap

Image
Here are some of the things we did in May: Booth Brothers concert in Indianapolis was wonderful. Indianapolis Indians baseball game ...where we had a great view of the Super moon. We watched our nephew's soccer game We went to our cousin's 5th birthday party Jeremy, Breanna and little Justice We celebrated Breanna graduating from high school. It was quite the busy month of May. But we enjoyed it!

Music Monday -- Yes I Know

Image
I heard this on the radio yesterday evening coming home from church, and it brought back memories. This song was one Dad, Mom and I would sing at church. In fact, I think this is the song Dad would usually suggest when it was our turn to sing. It's a simple song with a simple truth, but it holds a special place in my heart.

April Memories (AKA -- Long Time, No Post)

Image
Where in the world have I been? Really, nowhere, but I have been super busy here at home. Instead of doing separate posts about each thing, this is going to be a summary post of what has been going on in the life of the Froelichs. Here goes! We celebrated Easter with a Sunrise service at church. We really enjoyed hearing Rod Vore minister to us. We had a pitch-in breakfast after the service before our Easter Sunday School and Worship services. We had around 30 kids in Junior Church on Easter, which gave us a packed out room. It was great! :) Us on Easter after church We found this yard sign at LifeWay for only $5. We had it in our yard for a few weeks. I am so glad that HE IS RISEN! Other happenings in April included going to IHC for Thursday afternoon and evening. The Children's Service was very well done. Good job, Gene and Angie Davis! The Friday evening after IHC, our church had the Penn View Choir and Orchestra. Carl and I had the privilege of hosti

Glorious Day (Living He Loved Me)

Image
Here is a modern day take on a classic hymn. Living, He loved me. Dyring, He saved me. Buried, He carried my sins far away. Rising, He justified freely forever. One day He's coming. Oh, glorious day!

Happy Easter!!!!

He is Risen!

Then Came The Morning

Image
One of my favorite Easter songs. "Death has lost, and life has won. For morning has come."

Music Monday -- "There Rose A Lamb"

Image
One of my favorite songs for Easter. I love the second verse: I wasn't there when Jesus died. I wasn't there to see Him rise. But I was there when He saved my soul, For within my heart this Lamb arose!

Music Wednesday -- "Take Time To Be Holy"

Image
The Lord is reminding me of the importance of taking time to be holy. It seems like life is sooo busy, and we so easily forget (neglect) the things which are most important. I am guilty of this more than I would care to admit. Lord, forgive me, and help me walk closer to You.

Music Monday -- "I'm Gonna Make it Through" -- Sisters

Image
We had the Grace Trio from God's Bible School at our church on Sunday night. The group did an outstanding job. One of the songs they sang was this one. I love it.

Project 365 -- Week 9

Week of February 26 to March 3 Diaper motorcycle I made for a cousin Baby shower

Finished Pinterest Project

Image
I made something I found on Pinterest. Last weekend, I went to the baby shower for my cousin's girlfriend. She is due to have a little girl towards the end of this month. I wanted to make something different for her. Since I do not sew (that's why I have my mother...), the options were kinda limited. But I found this cute idea on Pinterest. Instead of the traditional diaper cake, this is a diaper bike or motorcycle. How cute is that, huh? Source: sweetaprils.com via Vanessa on Pinterest The picture will take you to the website with the instructions for making one. Here is the one I made. It was a lot easier than I was expecting. The blankets were made by my Mom, so they were a little bigger and thicker than receiving blankets as the instructions suggest. What do you think?

Junior Church Bulletin Board

Image
I found this neat idea for the Junior Church on Boardsgalore.com . It is something completely different from what I have usually done for the Easter season. The large yellow egg and small eggs I drew freehand. I am so not an artist. The jelly beans I made using a bean clip art I found on Word. The background is from the education store. Speaking of Junior Church, here is a question for all you Children's Workers... How do you handle bathroom runs? Meaning, in our class, when one child asks to go to the bathroom, EVERYBODY else has to go to the bathroom too. I can't send them all at once, so I send them one at a time, but it is becoming a HUGE distraction. I try to get all bathroom time out of the way early, but that seems to be not working for keeping a sensible feeling of calm in the room. The kids go to Junior Church from their Sunday School classes with a five minute break between the classes which doesn't give a lot of time to make sure everyone goes to the b
