Where did this year go?

Can anyone tell me where in the world 2010 went? Seriously, this year went by so fast. God has been good to us this year. We have learned to depend on Him more. He has blessed us greatly. We have our families, our home, our church family, and lots of good friends. I am thankful for how God has helped me grow in grace this year. I want to grow more Christ-like every day. Some highlights of the year include: Going to Chicago for our anniversary...love that city! Going to National Quartet Convention for the first time. We loved it and plan on going back. Getting baptized this summer. Going to Gaither Fall Fest for my birthday. Celebrating Grandma's 80th birthday and Carl's 40th birthday this year. ...and probably lots of other things that I am forgetting at the moment. But like I said, we are greatly blessed. (I think that could the theme song for us this year.) Through the good times and bad times, God has blessed us. He has never left us or forsaken us. Here's t

Photo Blanket that I ordered for Grandma Miller

I wanted to get a special gift for Grandma Miller this year. I was going to order this from Wal-Mart, but they were out of the fleece blankets. I ended up getting it from Snapfish. I was really pleased on how it turned out. Grandma really loved it as well.

Christmas Program - Christmas Sunday

Image
Here are some pics from our Children's Christmas Program. The title was "Love Came Down at Christmas." Sister Forsee, our Pastor's wife, was in charge of the program. It went very well. We also had a musical program on Sunday evening. Glenda Russell was in charge of that program. Here are some pictures from that: Olivia Ben Luke Tyler and Byron Ladies Trio -- Sister Forsee, Joya Russell, Naomi Greathouse Ethan  Wanda Greathouse and Naomi Greathouse Glenda put together a small ensemble to sing "Ring Christmas Bells." Also, Mike Pile sang a song, Naomi Greathouse sang a solo, Joya played a piece on her flute, and Don played a piece on his clarinet. It was good program. God's presence was very close during the service.

Titantic Exhibit

Image
Saturday afternoon we went to the Indiana State Museum to see their Titanic exhibit. We went with my cousin Jennifer and her boyfriend Nate. The exhibit was really neat. They had a lot of recovered artifacts from the ship. We were not allowed to take any pictures, and we even had to turn off our cell phones. I was impressed by the amount of recovered items they had on display. When you enter the exhibit, they give you a copy of a boarding pass of an actual passenger on the ship. You can see at the end of the exhibit whether your passenger perished or survived. My passenger survived. It also gives you a little background information on that passenger. They also take your picture in front of a "green screen" which is supposed to be the Grand staircase on the ship. Here is our picture. I don't think we are dressed for the occasion...lol! All in all, the exhibit is pretty cool. I think it is worth the price of the ticket. I would even go again, if I had the chance. Th

Yes, I am alive.

I am still alive, just extremely busy. But who isn't busy this time of year? Here's what I have been up to since Thanksgiving: Thanksgiving we went to my Grandma's house for dinner, and Mom and I went to a couple of stores before she took me home. Carl always has to work on Thanksgiving, so Mom and I try to get a little bit of a head start on Christmas gifts for our Sunday School kids. When Carl got home from work at 11:30pm, we headed down to Wal-Mart for their midnight specials. The Saturday after Thanksgiving, Carl and I went down to Monument Circle to walk around and take some pictures of the "World's Largest Christmas Tree." We love going downtown. Last Thursday (the 2nd) was the Senior Piano Recital for my cousin Jennifer. It was actually a co-recital for her and another student, Jalena. The girls did an outstanding job. They played 3 duets, and each one played several solo pieces. Saturday was our church Christmas Dinner....so much yummy food. We
