Indiana Flower and Patio Show

Saturday, Mom, Carl and I went to the Flower and Patio Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. It was opening day, so it was pretty crowded. Plus, it was a rainy day, so I think that brought more people indoors. We saw the different gardens, which were beautiful as always. The theme this year for the gardens was "A Novel Idea." Each garden had a book title for the name. Some of my favorites were "The Wizard of Oz," The Bible/Garden of Eden, and "The Chronicles of Narnia." I actually bought some lily bulbs to plant at our house...seriously. Me, the person that kills flowers. Mom said that these should be easy to care for, so we shall see if I can keep them alive. I am not making any promises here, though.

Candle Giveaway!

Since my husband is working on a Saturday; since it's been a cloudy, rainy day; and since it's been almost two months since I have done a blog post. I am doing a GIVEAWAY! Carl is working on a Saturday evening for a co-worker, but he will have Labor Day off. That will be nice because Carl will be able to stay at our family reunion as long as he likes. For the past few years, he has only been able to stay for an hour before heading into work. Instead of staying home by myself, Mom and I went shopping. We went to a consignment store called Off The Hanger, where I bought this pair of shoes for only $6:   Cute, huh?   We also went to Bath and Body Works. They were having a Labor Day Sale. The 3-wick candles are 2 for $20 this weekend. The mini candles are 2 for $5, and they also have lots of other things on sale. I love it when they have the candles on sale. I absolutely love the candles at Bath and Body Works!   I bought these two large candles.
