Easy Recipe

I thought I would give you an easy recipe. It is one of our favorites. I make it a lot to take to Grandma's for Sunday dinner, and I have made it for church dinners. I usually put it together the night before, and bake it in the morning. I actually got this recipe from my Aunt Kathy. I make it so much, I have it memorized. Cheesy Potato Casserole Ingredients 1 package frozen hash brown potatoes 1 stick of butter, melted 8 ounce package sour cream 1 can of cream of chicken soup 1 8 ounce package (2 cups) shredded Cheddar cheese Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix potatoes, butter, sour cream, soup, and half the cheese in a 9X13 baking dish. Top with the remaining cheese. Bake for 50 minutes to an hour uncovered. Enjoy! See how easy that is? Even a non-cook like me can do this in her sleep. Let me know if you try and how you like it.

Curly Locks

Image
I borrowed a flat iron from my cousin Jennifer and tried it out Friday night. It took some getting used to, but once I did, the curls actually turn out pretty nice. The curls lasted the whole night, which is pretty rare with my hair. When I use a curling iron, the first curls I do usually are falling out by the time that I get to the last section of hair. I took a pic of the back of my hair before we went to the Tim Hawkins concert. Please excuse the mess on our dresser....and my silliness.

Tim Hawkins concert

Last night, we went to see comedian Tim Hawkins in concert. It was hilarious! It was a lot of fun. We went with Carl's Dad and step mom, and brother Jason and his wife Tammy. Carl's dad actually bought all the tickets. It was part of our Christmas gift. We had a really good time. It was good to get away and just have some laughs for a couple of hours. The opening act, John Branyan was also a lot more funny than I expected him to be. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Here are some pics from the night. John Branyan Tim Hawkins To check out some of Tim's stuff, go to www.timhawkins.net or do a search for his name on YouTube . You will laugh til you cry, believe me.

Items On My Wish List

1. Children's Ministry Resource Bible The copy that I have actually belongs to Mom. I need to get my own copy, so that Mom can have hers again. I have seen this Bible going for about $40 on different websites. Do you know of some place that may have it a little cheaper? 2. This camera: It's a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS. It has a 20x optical zoom, image stablization, a multi-angle viewing screen, and lots of other features. It has received pretty good reviews, from what I have seen on different websites. I am waiting to see if it will go on sale anywhere like Wal-Mart of Best Buy. *UPDATE* I found this camera on www.abesofmaine.com for a lot cheaper than other places I had checked. Plus, I got free shipping. I ordered it yesterday, and it is scheduled to be delivered to my work place tomorrow. YAY! I am so excited. I can't wait to try it out! 3. A flat iron: I have a curling iron, but I have heard that a flat iron curls the hair much quicker, and that the curls last longer. Any

8 months and Valentine's Day

Image
Saturday was our 8 month anniversary. We also celebrated Valentine's Day on Saturday, so it was a double celebration. We exchanged our gifts to each other. I bought Carl a pair of work-out pants, an IU T-shirt, and a DVD of Pilgrim's Progress. We watched that on the laptop Sunday night after church. Carl bought me flowers (see the post below), a hair dryer (I really needed one), a box of "Turtles" (chocolate covered pecans with caramel), and a nice cup that I can use for my hot tea. We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory downtown Indy on Saturday evening for dinner. We wanted to walk around Monument Circle but it was too chilly. We had to wait about an hour and an half at the restaurant for a table. The food was good though. I didn't take any pictures of our Valentine's date. But here is another wedding picture to celebrate our 8 months of being married.

What I worked on tonight...

Valentine's Day cards for some of the families at church. What do you think? They are pretty simple, but it is the thought that counts, right? I have 10 more to make before Sunday. Carl and I will be writing some words of appreciation on the inside of each card. We are having a pitch-in dinner after church, and Pastor Forsee suggested that we give Valentine cards to each other. It's a way to show our appreciation for our church family.

Good times with good friends

Image
This past Saturday, Carl and I met my good friends Amy and Gina for lunch at On the Border. Amy was up from Texas for the weekend, and her birthday. We had not seen each other since September, which is way too long in my opinion. We had a good time catching up. It is always good to see special friends, and even better when we can encourage each other in the Lord. Carl and I Gina, Amy and Me...

I am such a slacker...

For all of my faithful readers...all three of you (if that many)...I want to apologize for the lack of reading material. I am a slacker, but at least I admit it. I will try to be more consistent with blog posts this month. -------------------------------------------- Mom and James got back from Panama last Friday. They were supposed to be home on Thursday night, but they had quite a flight from Miami to Dallas. There was a HUGE storm system that pretty much closed down the Dallas/Fort Worth airport, so they had to wait the storm out on the ground in Houston. Their flight from Dallas to Indy was cancelled. Mom and James were given vouchers for a hotel room and food for the night, and they flew home on Friday morning. But, Mom and James had a nice time in Panama, visiting our family. It was very hot down there, and they came home to temps in the teens, I think. James has pictures up on his Facebook page from the trip. I got the memory card from Mom tonight to order prints, so I may post
