Chicago - Day 2

What we did today:

WALKED, WALKED AND WALKED SOME MORE!

Seriously, we walked a lot. The trolley that we had planned to take around the city was not running today, probably because of the parade the city had for their NHL Hockey team, the Blackhawks, who just won the Stanley Cup. We didn't go to the parade because we knew it would be WAY too crowded for our liking, but we saw lots of people today sporting the Blackhawks shirts and jerseys...even a few headdresses...

The first place we went was Moody Bible Institute. It was really neat to tour the campus, and to learn some more history of the school and D.L. Moody. We were able to tour the Moody Radio studio as well, which was really cool. We even rode the elevator down with the current President of MBI, but we didn't even realize it until after we got off the elevator.

After Moody, we walked to the Hard Rock Cafe, where we tried to catch the Hop On/Hop Off Tour, to Willis (Sears) Tower, but, as I said, it wasn't running today.

So we walked the several blocks to Willis Tower. It was sort of neat to walk and see the city. We took lots of pictures while we were at the top of the building, but here are a few:
Out on the ledge!

From Willis tower, we walked to Michigan Ave, and then up Michigan Ave to catch a boat tour of the Chicago River. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the skyscrapers and architecture styles.

After the boat tour, we, you guessed it, walked to the Ohio Street Beach, but didn't stay there very long.

We made our way to Navy Pier, which was actually pretty cool. You could do a lot there.

When we finished at Navy Pier, we caught a free trolley to State Street, where we got a taxi to take us back to our hotel...we were very tired of walking... It never felt so good to take my shoes off and rest. :)

Tomorrow, we plan to go to Millennium Park and the Shedd Aquarium before heading home. We hit just about everything on our "to-do" list, which makes us very happy.
