Happy Birthday to Me!

Image
Today is my birthday! I still act like a kid, and I get all excited for my birthday every year. A friend of mine and I say that we celebrate our birthdays all month long. Her birthday is also in October. I am blessed with family and friends that treat me so well. I don't deserve such good friends and family in my life, but I am thankful for each and every one. Even if I didn't get a sing gift, I am blessed beyond measure! Speaking of gifts, though, I did get a lot of those. Carl spoiled me as always. He took me to a Jason Crabb concert in Anderson this past Saturday. Today, he gave me a gift set and a candle from Bath and Body Works, some pretty fall flowers, tickets to the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra with Joshua Bell in June, and tickets to see the Booth Brothers later this month. The Booth Brothers are one of my favorite Southern Gospel groups, number 2 after the Gaither Vocal Band. :) I also got some money from Mom, my uncle, and my in-laws, and a gift card to ...

Happy (late) Birthday to Carl!

Image
Yesterday was my sweet hubby's birthday. He is such a wonderful husband to me.  I love him so much! Thursday, I treated him to lunch at Fogo de Chao. He loved it. That place is awesome. Thursday night we went to Columbus to hear Gold City in concert. That was a great concert. I had bought tickets to the Colts/Packers game this past Friday night a few weeks ago. Friday afternoon, my boss gives me the season tickets the company gets every year. So I was able to give the tickets I bought to someone else to enjoy, and Carl and I were able to enjoy the game, along with my brother James and Carl's mom. Too bad the Colts lost though. I bought an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen to take to my Grandma's house to have after Sunday dinner. Carl had a nice birthday. I tend to spoil him...just a little. He does the same thing for me though.

My Birthday

I had an amazing birthday weekend. We had made plans to go up to Alexandria, Indiana and visit what I call "Gaitherville" or Gaither Family Resources. They were having a Fall Fest. They had a picnic on the grounds with a group called Joshua's Vision providing the musical entertainment. There were vendors selling handmade items, and the Gaither store was open. We ate a good early dinner, and browsed the store. I actually bought the special package they had for the weekend, the two new Gaither DVD's "Count Your Blessings" and "Giving Thanks" along with the CDs and the new Christmas CD by The Isaacs. It was $60. We were hoping the studio would be open for tours, but it wasn't. I guess that just gives us an excuse to go up there another time, so that Carl can see the studio. After that, we headed down to Anderson to go to a concert featuring Ryan Seaton and the Booth Brothers. The Booth Brothers are one of our favorite gospel groups. We loved the ...

Sunday evening after church, we had cake and ice cream for Carl's birthday. Carl loves fellowship with our church people and I knew he would like this. We all had a good time. The Birthday Boy! Pastor Forsee and Carl Mackenzie and Brooklynn

Happy 40th Birthday, Carl!

Today Carl is the big 4-0...:) I wanted to post this earlier in the day, but better late than never, huh? We have had a good day, and Carl has had a nice birthday. We are now in different decades. We went to Logan's last night with Carl's Mom, Grandma and friend Mark. The food was sooo good. We were completely stuffed when we left there. He opened his gift from me this afternoon. He wore the shirt this evening when we went to his Dad's house for dinner. Tomorrow evening after church, I am having cake and ice cream for him. He loves fellowship with God's people and I know we all will enjoy it. I am sure I will have more pictures to post after that. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CARL! i LOVE YOU!

Grandma's Birthday Party

Image
The party we had for my Grandma's 80 th birthday turned out really well on Friday night. We had a pretty good turn out, and Grandma enjoyed herself. Thanks to all who came to the party, and to all those who helped in planning, decorating, and cooking for the party. We gave Grandma a photo book that showed a family history. There were pictures of her parents, siblings, children and grandchildren, plus pictures of her and Grandpa. She really liked it, and so did a lot of other people. Here are some pictures from the party.

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Today is my Grandma Miller's 80 th birthday. I want to wish her a very special happy birthday! She means a lot to our family. I am so thankful for her. She is such a prayer warrior. I know that she prays for each one of her children and grandchildren every day. I am thankful for the Christian heritage we have, and the example that Grandpa and Grandma have been for us. Grandma is always saying that God supplies her needs, and I know that He does. Here are some pictures of Grandma that I had on my laptop. I made a photo book for her birthday that we will give to her on Friday evening at a birthday party in her honor. I just want to wish my cousin Lynn a very Happy Birthday! She is like the younger sister I never had. She is a great cousin and a great friend. She is a wonderful mother to her two little girls, Brooklynn and Mackenzie. Happy Birthday, Lynn! Happy Birthday, Mackenzie!

Image
Yesterday, June 5th, was my little cousin Mackenzie's birthday. She is now 2 years old. She, like her sister, is just too cute for words. Mackenize was born just a couple of days before that terrible flood that hit Johnson County and Bartholomew County and some other counties south of us. Mackenzie talks a lot for only being two years old. She talks just as much or maybe even more that Brooklynn, who just turned 3. I think it is because they are so close in age, that they are learning everything together. Happy Birthday, Mackenzie! We love you very much! Just about a day old, with big sister, Brooklynn and proud Grandpa Happy baby... Christmas 2009 Winter 2010 At her birthday party. She loves her Jeep.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my wonderful Momma's birthday. She is the best mother anyone could have. (I know y'all think your mom is the best, but I think my Mom is. :)...) She has always been there for my brother and I whenever we needed her. She was a stay at home mom for several years, and when she did have to get a job, she worked the overnight shift so that she could be home for us during the day. James and both know that Mom is only a phone call away. Mom is the type of person who puts the needs of others before her own. She is always doing what she can to help those around her, whether family, friends, or at church. She has passed this attitude of helping others down to me and James. Mom is caring, funny (we got her quirky sense of humor), a great cook, and a wonderful Christian who has learned a lot about depending on the Lord the past couple of years. She is a shining example to us and to others. We love her very much!
