Christmas Card Blessing Ring

Image
I found this on another blog and decided to try to make one for our Christmas cards this year. I wanted to get more fancy ribbon, but we were in a hurry and didn't have the time to look around. I liked how it turned out though. I also like that I can just hang this on the Christmas tree and our cards are always in sight, instead of being put in a box. I love getting Christmas cards. I hate how it seems to a tradition that is dying out. I pinned the link to the instructions to Pinterest, so here is the picture. Source: brodyfrancis.blogspot.com via Vanessa on Pinterest

Music Monday - Your Presence for Christmas

Image
I heard this song while watching a wedding recently, and then again at the Christmas Program at Union Bible College. I love the words. This is my prayer. I want to have the presence of Jesus near to me and my loved ones this Christmas, for that is the best gift to have. Without Jesus, we wouldn't have Christmas at all.

Photo Blanket that I ordered for Grandma Miller

Image
I wanted to get a special gift for Grandma Miller this year. I was going to order this from Wal-Mart, but they were out of the fleece blankets. I ended up getting it from Snapfish. I was really pleased on how it turned out. Grandma really loved it as well.

Yes, I am alive.

I am still alive, just extremely busy. But who isn't busy this time of year? Here's what I have been up to since Thanksgiving: Thanksgiving we went to my Grandma's house for dinner, and Mom and I went to a couple of stores before she took me home. Carl always has to work on Thanksgiving, so Mom and I try to get a little bit of a head start on Christmas gifts for our Sunday School kids. When Carl got home from work at 11:30pm, we headed down to Wal-Mart for their midnight specials. The Saturday after Thanksgiving, Carl and I went down to Monument Circle to walk around and take some pictures of the "World's Largest Christmas Tree." We love going downtown. Last Thursday (the 2nd) was the Senior Piano Recital for my cousin Jennifer. It was actually a co-recital for her and another student, Jalena. The girls did an outstanding job. They played 3 duets, and each one played several solo pieces. Saturday was our church Christmas Dinner....so much yummy food. We...

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Image
The women of our church had the opportunity to decorate a Christmas Tree for the History Museum in our town this year. Each year, different organizations decorate a tree, and the townspeople come and vote for their favorite. The winning tree receives a cash prize for their organization. We thought this would be a good way to get our church name "out there" in a different sort of way. The theme we chose was "Jesus Loves the Little Children of The World." We used two small globes to top the tree, colored ribbon (red, brown, yellow, black and white) as streamers coming down from the top of the tree, and little paper dolls with children's faces on them as ornaments. We also had some buttons with flags of different countries, angels, and some other little items as well. Also, one of the women made little banners that said Merry Christmas in different languages that we put on the tree as well. Here are some pictures of our little tree. It was a fun time.
