Here are some of the items that I am loving right now. 1. This devotional. Carl and I are reading this at night before bed. We are finding it to be a very good devotional. It really challenges a person to a deeper walk with God. 2. My iPhone 4. I finally got it! I was so excited to get it. I have been saving up for it for a couple of months. I am looking for cool iPhone apps. Let me know if there is an application that you use that you absolutely love. 3. My neck-wrap from BeautiControl . One of my cousins had a Spa party a couple of months ago, which I attended. Later, she became a consultant, so I had a Spa party of my own. This was a hostess gift. It is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It has a gel pack inside that you can heat in the microwave for a couple of minutes, or you can freeze it if you want it cold. I love it! 4. Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment and Deep Repair Masque. This stuff is awesome! My hair is so soft and smooth now. I use the Deep Repair Masque in the shower. I
My pastor read this tonight at church. I liked it and thought I would would share with all of you. God Is Like... A fifth grade teacher in a Christian school asked her class to look at TV commercials and see if they could use them in some way to communicate ideas about God. Here are some of the results: God is like BAYER ASPIRIN...He works miracles. God is like FORD...He's got a better idea. God is like COCA-COLA...He's the real thing. God is like HALLMARK...He cares enough to send His very best. God is like TIDE...He gets the stains out that others leave behind. God is like GENERAL ELECTRIC...He brings good things to life. God is like WAL-MART...He has everything. God is like ALKA-SELTZER...Try Him, you'll like Him God is like SCOTCH TAPE...You can't see Him, but you know He's there. God is like DELTA...He's ready when you are. God is like ALLSTATE...You're in good hands with Him. God is like VO-5 HAIRSPRAY...He holds through

Happy Valentine's Day!

Image
I hope each of you are enjoying this Valentine's Day. This day is now bittersweet for me. I always think of Dad on Valentine's Day, for that is the first time that he saw me after I was born. Read about that here . Here is a picture of what I got from my Valentine. The flowers are beautiful. I love my new wallet. The bear is cute, and Carl has to help me eat the Turtles...lol! Plus, we are going to the Cheesecake Factory on Saturday night...can't wait! I got Carl an Indiana Hoosiers T-shirt, a new winter coat (he was really needing a new one), and ordered a book that he wanted. It is a biography of Leonard Ravenhill, who was a very powerful preacher.

Trying to get back in the blogging spirit...

Image
So, I think that January 2011 was my worst blogging month. Ever. I am trying to get back in the groove. Hopefully, I get it together soon. I did some organizing around the house the past couple of weeks. I took a small bookcase I had in the hallway and placed it in our living room next to the piano to hold my music books.  It matches the piano and our coffee table in color very well. Now, I can use the storage cart that was holding my music to hold my Sunday School/Junior Church stuff, with the printer sitting on top of it. BTW, I LOVE my new wireless printer. It is a Canon MP495. It was only $50 at Wal-mart. I love being able to send things to print without having to connect my laptop to the printer. I can be anywhere in the house and print stuff. (Now, if only I could think of a way to get the things I print without having to get up...lol) A few weeks ago, Target had these bookcases on sale for $16. Carl and I finally put it together this past Saturday. I put this in the hallw

Ice Storm of 2011

Image
I hope you all survived the ice storm this week. I am just glad that it was not as bad as it could have been. Carl actually booked us a room at a hotel in preparation for the power going out at the house. Turns out, the power did not go out at home, but I guess, better safe than sorry. We had several people call in on Tuesday and Wednesday at work. I only worked about 4 hours each day because Carl took me to work and picked me up before heading to working himself. I was thankful that I did not have to drive on the icy roads. I am also thankful for God keeping my loved ones safe during the storm. Here are some pics from this week:  The view from the hotel room window. I kept watching the ice pile up on the branches of this tree.  Think layer of ice on the top of Carl's car.  Ice on all the trees and bushes  Icy porch steps More ice
