Some pics from Brown County

Image
Here are some of my favorite pics from our trip to Brown County on Saturday. Check out my Facebook album for the rest.

Feliz Cumpleaños, Abuela

Image
I want to wish my Grandma Peña in Panamá a very happy birthday...a few days late. Her birthday was actually on the 22nd. Please pray for her. She has some health problems and was actually in the hospital due to high blood pressure the past few days. This is a picture of my Grandma and my Mom the day before we left Panamá on our most recent trip there, which was April 2008.

Encouragement

I have noticed that a lot of people I know are going through some rough times lately. It seems like almost every where you turn, someone is really sick with the flu (regular or H1N1) or some other kind of virus, facing financial hardships, carrying burdens for lost relatives and friends, or fill-in-the-blank. Through whatever we have to face, I know that we have a Heavenly Father who is watching over us, even when it seems like He is a million miles away. I keep finding myself being reminded of the verse in the Bible that my Pastor shared with us back in the summer. Proverbs 18:10 says "The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe." Pastor Forsee went over several different names of God, and explained what each meant. A few weeks later, Brother Walden did a similar study during a Wednesday night service. I took some notes on that one and thought I would share the notes with you. Remember, these are not my thoughts, these are from Brother

Friend and Family Day

Image
Here is an invitation to our church Friend and Family Day. IF you don't have a church to go to, please consider coming to the Franklin Pilgrim Holiness Church. We are having a service at 10:30am, with a pitch-in dinner at noon, and a service at 2:30 in the afternoon. The afternoon service will be a singing service. We are having the White Families sing for us. Their music will certainly get your toes to tapping. Please join us! We would love to have you!

Pastor Appreciation Night

Image
We had our Pastor Appreciation night tonight after the service. We always try to surprise our Pastor and family with a time of fellowship and giving them groceries and things that they would need. We really wanted to shoe them that we love them this year. The whole family was sick for a couple of weeks...Pastor Forsee is still getting over whatever he has. And Sister Forsee's father passed away after a long battle with cancer at the beginning of the month. Here are some pictures from tonight. Pastor and Sister Forsee and boys, we really appreciate you!! The table that Mom and Aunt Pat decorated. My Mom put together this floral arrangement. Pictures of the church people Pastor and Sister Forsee I also put together a Shutterfly photo book with pictures of the Forsees. I used photos that I had and some that I got from others in the church. I even used some that I copied from Kelly's, Sister Forsee's sister, blog. Here is a link to that photobook. http://share.shutterfly.com/

I love this girl!

You can see the mischievousness in her eyes and silly little grin...she gets it from her Grandpa Miller, I am almost positive. Ha ha ha.

My Free Pampered Chef Products

Image
I was able to get $90 in free products for having my Pampered Chef party. I was very excited. I got the medium sheet pan, medium stoneware pan, tool turn-about, paring knife, citris peeler, pizza cutter, can opener, cookbook, small batter bowl with a lid, a mini measuring cup, and a microwave rice cooker. Not bad for having a party. Thank you, everyone who came to my party and placing an order. I really appreciate it. Here are a few pictures from the party:

4 Months

Image
Can't believe it has already been 4 months. We are 1/3 of the way to our first anniversary. Wow. Time is going by so fast. We received our wedding album in Saturday's mail. It actually came to my work, and it was waiting for me when I got there yesterday. It turned out beautiful. Carl and I are very pleased with the results.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Image
This past Saturday was my birthday. I had a very nice day. Carl treated me so well. He gave me this: Which means that we are going to hear this group: The group is Time for Three, and they are really cool. We heard them at Symphony on the Prairie this summer and we loved them. We also are going to hear the music of The Wizard of Oz while the movie is played. That is going to be so cool! I love The Wizard of Oz. Carl also gave me some of this stuff (which smells really good): He gave me the shower gel, bubble bath, body spray, and hand cream, along with a pair of really comfy slipper socks. He tends to spoil me... We went up to UBC for their Old Fashioned Day. On the way back home, we stopped at Clay Terrace. We then had to hurry home to get ready for revival service that night. We plan on going to Apple Works and to Little Nashville this Saturday. Then going back down to Brown County later this month. I make my birthday a month-long event... Thanks to everyone that wished me happy birt

A good soup recipe

Image
Since it is getting colder now, I decided to fix a new soup recipe. This recipe is from the Taste of Home Simple and Delicious magazine, the September/October 2009 issue. It is really good, and really easy to fix. Carl said that this may be a new favorite. Chicken Cheese Soup 4 cups cubed cooked chicken breast 3 and 1/2 cups water 2 cans (10-3/4 oz each) condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted 1 pkg. (16 oz) frozen mixed vegetables 1 can (14-1/2 oz) diced potatoes, drained 1 pkg. (16 oz) process cheese (Velveeta), cubed In a Dutch oven, combine the first 5 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Stir in cheese just until melted (do not boil). Yield: 7 servings
