One Month....already


Wow, Carl and I have been married one month today. It is hard to believe that it has already been that long. It seems like we just got married. Married life is great.

We are still getting settled in our house. It has been a little hard to get settled due to our schedules being a little wacky the past few weeks. We had one week of our normal schedule. Then, Carl was on days for two weeks, getting up at 5:45AM...ugh! I would go back to sleep until my alarm went off at 8. Now, this week, I am the one getting up at 6AM (or 6:30) and he is sleeping in. Carl is back to his regular 3 to 11pm shift. Next week we will be back to our normal schedule.

It is hard to believe that you've been married a month already! Jonathan and I worked opposite shifts when we were first married. I was the one on 2nd though. I'd wake him up at night when I got off work and we'd talk for about an hour, then he'd go back to sleep while I tried to wind down! It's tough, but you'll make it. Maybe someday Carl will get a day shift like you!

Time flies when you are having fun!! Bruce from work just sold the piano for $100.00. Sorry... I will keep my ears open for another...

Since my husband is working on a Saturday; since it's been a cloudy, rainy day; and since it's been almost two months since I have done a blog post. I am doing a GIVEAWAY! Carl is working on a Saturday evening for a co-worker, but he will have Labor Day off. That will be nice because Carl will be able to stay at our family reunion as long as he likes. What do you collect?

I am sure every person out there has some odd or crazy thing he or she collects. Especially when you travel...do you have a certain object you like to buy/find as a souvenir? Some collect those spoons with the location on the handle. Some like the shot glasses or keychains. Others may enjoy postcards or stamps. I am sure you can think of lots of things you could pick up when you are on vacation or visiting a new location. Me, I like to get these: For some crazy reason, I love to get these smashed pennies. They are usually pretty cheap, only 50 cents to a dollar each, and make a simple souvenir. I thought I had more of these, but maybe I gave some away. The ones here are from Texas, Arizona and Chicago. I look for these penny machines at all the tourist places. I think it's fun. May I also right here say that if you are traveling and come across one of these machines, think of me and get me one? If I may be so bold to ask for a souvenir... I would love to add to my collection!
