VBS 2010

Image
Monday night was the first night of Vacation Bible School for our church. Our workers are Jim and Lori Spurgin. The theme is the Jungles of India. The kids are collecting bugs for points. Tonight, the Bible story was about Ruth and Boaz. We had a few new kids tonight. A couple of them are new to the area and the family is looking for a church, so we pray that the boys will enjoy VBS so much that they would want to come every Sunday. We had a few minor issues, but overall, everything went well tonight. Hopefully, we will continue to increase our numbers each night. If you think of it, please keep us in your prayers this week. The front of the church decorated like a jungle. Learning the memory verse Snack time I found this cute little kid outside...

Baptism Service at Church

Image
Sunday evening, we had a Baptismal Service at church. There were 5 people that got baptized; Carl, me, Jennifer, Byron and Ben. There was one other that was supposed to join us, but she wasn't able to due to some physical ailments. I thank the Lord for how He has been near to me. I thank Him for salvation, holiness, and His promise to never leave us or forsake us. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be baptized and for His help during the baptismal service. Here are some pictures from our service. The front of the church The candidates taking the oath... Jennifer Vanessa Ben Carl Byron

Where Have I Been???

No place exciting, that's for sure. Just busy livin' life. I haven't posted anything in so long, I probably lost the 4 readers that I had. Sorry! This week has been one of THOSE weeks...you know, what could go wrong, does go wrong. Seems like some other people have had the same kind of week. Monday morning, we woke up to very low water pressure. When Carl opened the front door, we found out why we had the low pressure, there was a water fountain in our front yard that we did not have installed. Water was bubbling up from the ground. We called the water company; they came and turned off the water, and told us to get a plumber to fix the problem. We called my cousin's husband to check things out, but he would not be able to fix it until Friday. But he hooked us up to the neighbor's water for the short term. The person who worked on our house offered to fix the broken pipe for us, so we were only without water for not even a whole day, and it didn't cost us as much

June Favorites

Image
We are almost half way through July, and I haven't posted my June favorites yet. Here they are. 1. The lilies in the front yard. I love them. I bought a package of bulbs at the Flower and Patio Show. I planted them in April. They have bloomed this past month. They are beautiful. After roses, lilies are my favorite. 2. Our trip to Chicago. It was a great trip. I wished we could have stayed there a couple more days. We look forward to going back sometime, soon I hope. 3. Our first anniversary. I can hardly believe that we have been married for a year already. 4. Being able to watch Pilgrim Camp online. I enjoyed the services (or parts of services) that I was able to watch. What a blessing. 5. Family. I thank the Lord for my amazing family. We are truly blessed. I love my family, and I never want to take any member of our family for granted. I may not say it as much I ought to, but if you are reading this and you are related to me, I love you, and I am thankful that you are in my lif
