Today marks 11 years since the horrible attack on our country. I will never forget September 11, 2001. I was actually still asleep when the towers of the World Trade Center were hit. My mom called me from work, and told me to turn on the radio to hear the news. I was shocked by what I was hearing. I got online to read news reports as the day went on. I remember how we saw American flags flying everywhere we went for weeks after that day. Everyone was being so patriotic. I remember buying the TIME and Newsweek magazines for a couple weeks. I remember it being such a perfect day, weather wise. The sky was so blue, the temps were just about perfect, it was just a perfect early fall day. It seems a little more real this year, since 9/11 falls on a Tuesday again. Our country realized that day it was not invincible, and it is not invincible today. Friday evening, I attended a Legacy Five and Greater Vision concert in Indianapolis. It. Was. Awesome. In case you were not aware, Legacy Five recently hired a new bass singer after the original bass singer, Glenn Dustin, resigned from the group. Glenn was one of my favorites, so I was really bummed when he left. But, I was very pleased with the new guy. Matt Fouch did a great job with the group on only his 4th concert with Legacy Five. I got to talk to him a little after the concert, and he was very easy to talk to, really down to earth, like all the guys in L5. Legacy Five had their set first, and did several songs, including one of my favorites, Ask Me Why. I love that song. They did a fabulous job on We Shall See Jesus to end their first set. Greater Vision had a great first set as well. They sang several favorites, like My Name Is Lazarus and I Know A Man That Can. Nothing cheers me up on a busy day at work like coming home to some beautiful flowers from my husband.

Since my husband is working on a Saturday; since it's been a cloudy, rainy day; and since it's been almost two months since I have done a blog post. I am doing a GIVEAWAY! Carl is working on a Saturday evening for a co-worker, but he will have Labor Day off. That will be nice because Carl will be able to stay at our family reunion as long as he likes. For the past few years, he has only been able to stay for an hour before heading into work. Instead of staying home by myself, Mom and I went shopping. We went to a consignment store called Off The Hanger, where I bought this pair of shoes for only $6:   Cute, huh?   We also went to Bath and Body Works. They were having a Labor Day Sale. The 3-wick candles are 2 for $20 this weekend. The mini candles are 2 for $5, and they also have lots of other things on sale. I love it when they have the candles on sale. I absolutely love the candles at Bath and Body Works!   I bought these two large candles.  ...

Monday of our vacation, we toured the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, which is about halfway between Fort Worth and Dallas. The tour was pretty cool. We were able to see the personal suite of owner Jerry Jones. We visited a suite, walked around in the locker rooms of the cheerleaders and the players, and even got to go on the football field itself. The stadium is HUGE. A lot bigger than Lucas Oil Stadium. We visited the Sixth Floor Museum, which is the location of the shooting which took the life of John F. Kennedy. The museum has a lot of history. You could stay there for quite a while, looking at pictures and reading everything. Sunday morning of our vacation we attended the Saginaw First Baptist Church. It was not far from Amy's house. We went to a Sunday School class and then the Worship Service. It was different, but good. The people there were very friendly, and the sermon was Biblical. After the service we went back to Amy's house for lunch. I took my Sunday afternoon nap, like always. Sunday evening, we attended church with Amy. We went to Christ Chapel Bible Church. This was a much bigger church than the one we went to Sunday morning. Again, the people were friendly and the message was Biblical. The service was definitely more contemporary than we are used to, but still a good service.
