What's in our backyard...

Image
We have a litter of kittens hanging out in our backyard. I noticed a couple kittens a week or so ago. Then, this week, Carl noticed some more. We have counted at least 5 kittens and their mama. They are pretty cute, but we really don't need any cats. I am NOT a cat person, and even if I were, Carl and I don't want any pets right now. Though I have to admit, I watched the kittens play for at least 10 minutes or so last night. You see, I think kittens are cute, but I know that kittens grow up to be cats, and in my opinion, cats are not cute. I know there are some people out there that love cats...maybe they would want the ones in the backyard... I am not sure what we are going to do about the new residents...any suggestions? Here are some pictures that I took from the kitchen window. 4 of the 5 kittens; the other one was a little camera shy and was hiding in the brush pile.

When I Cry

Feeling pretty down tonight. This is the song that has been going through my head.

Happy Birthday, Lynn!

I just want to wish my cousin Lynn a very Happy Birthday! She is like the younger sister I never had. She is a great cousin and a great friend. She is a wonderful mother to her two little girls, Brooklynn and Mackenzie. Happy Birthday, Lynn! Sugar Scrub

If you need a cheap way to exfoliate for your face, look no further than your kitchen cabinets. Just take about a tablespoon of sugar (or enough to fit in the palm of your hand), wet it just enough to dampen it, and rub the sugar onto your face, focusing on any spots that need special attention. I usually scrub for about 30 to 45seconds, but no more than a minute. Rinse the sugar off your face, and feel how soft your skin feels. It works great! I actually used to do this every other day, then slacked off for a long time. I tried it again last night, and was surprised all over again at how soft my face feels. It still feels pretty soft, 24 hours later. I will have to get back in the habit of doing this again.

Lilies from our front yard

Image
Here are some pictures of the lilies that have finally opened up in our front yard. I love lilies. I think that they are really pretty. Plus, I have been told that they are easy to care for, and that they will multiply in seasons to come.

Father's Day

Image
Father's Day is not the same for me anymore. Since both my Grandpas and my Dad are gone, Father's Day is a sad day for me. I miss my Grandpas and Dad so very much. I didn't have a picture of my Grandpa Peña on my computer to post one here. I didn't know him that well, but was told that he was a good man that cared about his family. Grandpa Miller He was a great example of a what a Christian should be. My Dad He was a awesome father to us. I never doubted that he loved us. He was always willing to spend time with his family. If you still have your dad and grandfathers with you, please take the time to tell them that you love them; even if your relationship may be a little rocky at times. Treasure the moments you have with your dad, too soon they will be gone. This song describes the way I have felt today.

1st Anniversary

Image
Today we have been married for a full year. It does not seem possible. It seems like just last month we were getting ready for the wedding. It has been a wonderful experience. Married life is amazing. It is awesome being married to your best friend. This is us last year: And this is us tonight: We thawed out the cake we saved from the wedding, and each had a piece. It still tasted pretty good for being frozen for a whole year. Here is one of the anniversary gifts I received from Carl. I have it on the piano for now. I really like it.
