Froelich's Frolics

We had two trees removed from our property line this week. One of the trees was on our property and the other was on our neighbor's property. We split the cost of getting the trees cut down. They were dead and we knew that one of these days, they could fall over in a bad storm, like one down the street. This is what it looked like on Monday evening: And this is what it looked like Tuesday evening: It looks so much better. We plan on putting in a fence, but that might have to wait until next summer. I am just glad to have the trees gone. Our neighbor is clearing out the brush in that area as well. People have been coming to get free firewood, and our neighbor has been burning some of it himself. Carl was out there this afternoon helping load some of the bigger pieces of wood to be taken away. Our yard looks a lot different.

...right before another weekend arrives! I was going to blog about our weekend earlier this week, but it didn't work out. Better late than never, though, right? Saturday evening, Carl and I invited some young couples from church over for a cookout and fellowship. We got a little worried when it started raining about the time everyone arrived. But, we just moved our picnic table to the garage, and the rain stopped after we finished eating. The guys were able to play some corn hole, and us ladies chatted while the little girls played with my old camera. They took A LOT of pictures. Here are some pictures that they took. We had a really good time, and talked of getting together again soon. Also that night, we noticed that we have a little barn owl visiting us. It was living in one of the trees on the property line between us and our neighbors. But those trees got cut down this week. More on that later... Sunday evening, we were honored to have the Union Bible College Choir sing for us...

Today my little cousin Brooklynn is 3 years old. I want to wish her a very Happy Birthday! She was born 10 weeks early, so she was in Intensive Care Unit for quite a while. I remember going to see her in the hospital several times a week while she was at St Vincent's and later St. Francis. She is quite the little stinker. She is very mischievous, and is always into something. She is very special to us and we love her very much! She was sooo tiny! Today, my Grandpa Miller would have been 86 years old. May 16th was his birthday. But Grandpa is celebrating his birthday in Heaven. Grandpa has been gone for almost nine years. I still really miss him. He was such a man of God. He was always reading his Bible and praying for his children and grandchildren. I knew that he loved all his family very much. It was hard watching him get weaker and weaker towards the end of his life...Grandpa was always such a strong man. I was looking through an album just this afternoon and Grandma's house of lots of Grandpa's Army photos and documents. It was really neat. I will have to try to scan some of those things and do another post on that. Today is the 13th, which marks another month of marriage for Carl and I. 11 months...wow! This is the last of our month anniversaries, next month we start counting in years. Has it really been almost a year since we got married? Some days (actually, A LOT of days) it just doesn't like it has been that long. We are having the time of our lives being together. Married life is wonderful! Looking forward to many more months and years together!

I am getting so behind in blogging. Here it is, almost half-way through May, and I only have 3 posts for the month, 4 including this one. Life has been busy, busy, busy! And it is not getting any less busy anytime soon... Making news around here since my last post are the following: 1. My Junior Church kids LOVE the Hawaiian Luau theme. It is a big hit. Thank You, Lord, for a GREAT group of kids. 2. Noticed that we have this growing in our backyard. My uncle thinks it is wisteria. I don't know, I am not very smart when it come to flowers, trees and the like. Whatever it is, it's pretty! 3. Made a couple Mother's Day cards. The purple one went to Grandma Miller, and the pink one to my Mom. 4. We booked our rental car and hotel for our anniversary trip. Look out, Chicago, here we come! We can't wait! Here is my list of things that I was loving during the month of April 2010. These are in no certain order, just as I think of them. 1. New snack. Mini marshmallows and chocolate chips. YUMMY! 2. "For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." Jesus lived, and died, and ROSE again because He loved us so much! He is Risen! 4. Moody Radio...it is FM 97.9 here in Central Indiana. I love the music they play and the programming. There is one program on Saturday afternoons that I like called "Talking it Over." The host has lots of interesting people on her show. She now hosts a program called "In the Market" that is during the week from 5 to 7pm. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, though. ...
