Vacation Day 3 -- Monday

Image
Monday of our vacation, we toured the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, which is about halfway between Fort Worth and Dallas. The tour was pretty cool. We were able to see the personal suite of owner Jerry Jones. We visited a suite, walked around in the locker rooms of the cheerleaders and the players, and even got to go on the football field itself. The stadium is HUGE. A lot bigger than Lucas Oil Stadium. Players locker room Carl in the end zone! Cowboy Stadium After the tour of the stadium, we made our way into Dallas. We visited the Sixth Floor Museum, which is the location of the shooting which took the life of John F. Kennedy. The museum has a lot of history. You could stay there for quite a while, looking at pictures and reading everything. Heading into the Big D Hard Rock Cafe Sixth Floor Museum After we were done at the museum, we headed back to Arlington to meet Amy at Mardel Christian Store to wait for Ted Dekker and Tosca Lee. De

Vacation -- Day 2

Sunday morning of our vacation we attended the Saginaw First Baptist Church. It was not far from Amy's house. We went to a Sunday School class and then the Worship Service. It was different, but good. The people there were very friendly, and the sermon was Biblical. After the service we went back to Amy's house for lunch. I took my Sunday afternoon nap, like always. Sunday evening, we attended church with Amy. We went to Christ Chapel Bible Church. This was a much bigger church than the one we went to Sunday morning. Again, the people were friendly and the message was Biblical. The service was definitely more contemporary than we are used to, but still a good service.
Happy Independence Day! Happy Birthday, America!

Vacation -- Day 1

We flew out of Indianapolis on Saturday, June 9th. We left before 9am, and arrived in Dallas around 10:30, Dallas time. We had a great flight, no trouble at all. We got our luggage, and took the shuttle to the Rental Car Center. We got a nice Hyundai Elantra  to use for the week. We actually put a little over 1000 miles on the car. We drove from the airport to Fort Worth where my friend Amy lives. Amy was so kind to let us spend a few nights at her house. That really saved us a lot of money. When we got our things unpacked, we went to grab something to eat and to the store to get some groceries for the week. We wnet back to the house, where Carl played the Wii, and I took a nap. Later that evening, we all headed to the Historic part of town, the Fort Worth Stockyards. There are eating places, shops, and a museum or two. That is where the rodeo takes place every Friday and Saturday night as well. You know that you can't go to Texas and not attend a rodeo. It was pretty fun.
